Job Details

We are working with a niche and collaborative, world leading SME called Agroisolab who are expanding their team in Welburn to find a Junior Analyst.

For over a decade, Agroisolab UK has been supporting food and timber producers, retailers and suppliers by utilising a range of analytical testing services and are experts in the use of isotope analysis for provenance testing, counter-fraud and authentication of organic produce at the commercial level. Their accredited laboratory delivers world-leading isotopic technology to trace food products, combat illegal trade, authenticate exports, and underpin brand integrity.

We are looking for a degree educated (in a science subject; biology, chemistry, biochemistry) to fill this highly sought-after position, previous experience in a professional setting would be ideal but not essential.

Day-to-day tasks will include:

  • Report templating/writing
  • Routine laboratory tasks (e.g., administrating samples, sample preparation, freeze-drying, record keeping)
  • 3D printing / 3D design
  • End-of-project reports
  • Administration of results onto portals
  • Sample purchasing/selection
  • Project co-ordination
  • Customer service
  • Keeping up to date with regulations in food and timber
  • Sample logistics

Training will be provided to use relevant equipment and follow internal standard operating procedures. It’s important to note that this role is mainly desk-based and is not primarily a position in an instrument or wet lab. The role requires extensive amounts collaborating on the design and running of projects as well as creating certificates of analysis and writing project reports.

The perfect candidate would have a passionate interest in food, sustainability, and the environment with the vision to further the use of science to aid business decisions.

Job type: Permanent, full time, Monday to Friday

Location: Welburn. Office/lab-based role with the flexibility to occasionally work from home

Holidays: 22 days plus bank holidays

Salary: £17,500 - 20K (depending upon experience)
