Job Details

We are working with the UK’s largest independently-owned survey and safety equipment company delivering technical services and solutions to the construction industry supporting customers nationwide with projects that are strengthening the UK’s infrastructure and growth. This Depot Manager role provides a successful candidate to be part of an efficient team. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Depot Manager is responsible for their local Hire & Sales Teams, Service Centre’s, Logistics and Warehouse staff.

As a Depot Manager your role will involve:

  • Customer enquiries are dealt with rapidly and effectively – on the trade counter, by email and phone.
  • Individual customer contracts and agreements are followed and updated on systems.
  • Operational policies and procedures are followed, and all systems are up to date.
  • Inter-team communications are maximised and efficient – thus ensuring stock levels and any cross-hires recorded, logistic teams given correct instruction, accounts department can access correct invoice details, procurement have knowledge for effective buying.
  • Ensuring team training up to date and recorded.
  • Support with annual appraisals, promotions etc
  • Hire fleet is maintained and up to date.
  • Systems in place to ensure that quality control is maintained.
  • Customer repairs are logged and dealt with efficiently and cost effectively
  • Strategically manage warehouse in compliance with company’s policies and vision.
  • The warehouse runs efficiently in respect to stock coming in and out of the depot.
  • Systems and checklists are in place to ensure that any stock arriving or leaving the warehouse is logged
  • Driver routes are effective and efficient.
  • Vans are well maintained.

To secure this Depot Manager position you will need:

  • Leadership skills and the ability to manage staff
  • Strong decision making and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience in a similar environment is desirable
  • Computer literacy
  • Industry knowledge
  • Good numeracy skills
  • Strong people skills
  • A flexible approach and strong work-ethic

  • Salary from up to £35k, dependant on experience

Hours: 7.30-5pm Mon-Fri
